UPDATE: Major lane closures are set to disrupt travel on U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove next week as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) ramps up bridge reconstruction efforts. Motorists must prepare for significant delays from Monday, November 17, through Friday, November 21, as crews work to improve this crucial route.
The following restrictions will be in effect:
– From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., westbound lanes of U.S. 422 will face closures between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges.
– From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., eastbound traffic will experience lane closures in the same stretch.
Additionally, Sanatoga Road remains closed and detoured between Linfield Road and High Street through Monday, December 1, due to demolition on the westbound side of the bridge over U.S. 422. Detours will direct drivers to utilize High Street, Evergreen Road, and Linfield Road.
Motorists are strongly urged to allow extra travel time as these construction activities are likely to cause significant backups and delays. All operations are weather dependent, and PennDOT is committed to minimizing disruptions while enhancing road safety.
This construction is part of a broader $83.6 million initiative aimed at reconstructing and improving approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway, including the replacement of bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.
Residents and commuters are advised to stay informed about the latest updates and plan their routes accordingly. As traffic conditions evolve, more information will be shared to help ease the impact of these essential infrastructure improvements.
Stay tuned for further announcements as this situation develops!
