Virgil Wayne Whitwell, Beloved Family Man, Passes Away at 84

UPDATE: Virgil Wayne Whitwell, aged 84, of Bonne Terre, has passed away peacefully at Mercy South in St. Louis on October 19, 2025. His departure marks a significant loss for family and friends who cherished his love and dedication.

Born on February 25, 1941, Whitwell was a devoted family man, thriving on the moments spent with loved ones. His passion for classic cars and his deep bond with his beloved dogs brought him immense joy throughout his life.

Whitwell dedicated several years to his career with Teamsters Local #610, showcasing a strong work ethic that defined his character. He is survived by five children, Vickie Ramsey, Cheryl Mitchell, Betty Niccum, Michael Whitwell, and Matthew Whitwell, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation is scheduled at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Friday, October 24, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Russell Dotson. Interment will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery.
