Motorists in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, should anticipate overnight and daytime lane closures on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive starting next week. These closures are part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) extensive project to reconstruct and widen a three-mile segment of the highway, with a total investment of approximately $116 million.

Beginning on Sunday, October 19, and continuing through Friday, October 24, lane closures will take place nightly from 20:00 to 06:00 on U.S. 1 in both directions. This closure will affect the stretch between Fairhill Avenue and the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange, which is a significant thoroughfare in the area.

In addition to the overnight work, daytime lane closures will also be implemented on Rockhill Drive. From Monday, October 20, through Friday, October 24, the eastbound lanes between Horizon Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard will experience closures from 09:00 to 15:00.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and should plan accordingly, allowing extra travel time as they navigate these construction zones. All work is subject to weather conditions, which may affect the schedule.

The reconstruction and widening of this section of U.S. 1 aim to enhance safety and improve traffic flow, marking a significant investment in the local infrastructure.
