Maurepas Lady Wolves Surge into Class C Semifinals with Resounding 10-2 Win

The sixth-seeded Maurepas Lady Wolves crushed third-seeded Hackberry 10-2 on the road April 24, securing a spot in the Class C semifinals scheduled for May 1 at 2:30 p.m. against second-seeded Claiborne Christian. This victory marks a major milestone for Maurepas, who will now play in the state tournament semifinals at Sulphur for the first time under head coach Gabrielle Varnado.

Early Offensive Surge Sparks Maurepas Blowout

The Lady Wolves exploded out of the gate, taking a commanding 5-1 lead after just two innings. They extended their advantage to 6-1 in the top of the third before Hackberry managed to cut the deficit to 6-2. Offensively, Maurepas was led by Layla Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with an impressive three runs scored and an RBI.
